Question

Via IRIS

We have been in contact with your VA regional office; they have informed us that your inquiry has been forwarded to the team processing your claim for review and placement in your file. The regional office has made notes in the system that your health is deteriorating and requested to have your claim expedited so you may receive treatment for your conditions

This is good news but one never knows how the VA will define "expeditious" treatment.

As long as you have sent them anything they have asked for so far, in the way of medical evidence- hopefully this could lead to the benefits you want.

Do you have a vet rep helping you on this?

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

the words expeditious does not have the same meaning at the VARO than anywhere else in the world almost everyone assumes it means as quickly as possible the VARO takes it to mean whenever they get "around to it" you could be months or years from hearing anything good you might get a "denial" real fast though now those get expeditious treatment

This is BS - adjudicating a claim has nothing to do with being able

to receive treatment for your conditions !

I recommend you view this email with "cautious optimism". At least one part is good..they cant say they did not receive your "advance on the docket due to illness" form.

However, I certainly agree with the others who have said, "You cannot trust what they say in IRIS emails." There is even some chance they really did expidite your claim, but dont hold your breath. A well known Veterans Advocate recommends never calling the 800 number or never sending an IRIS email, in part, because you cant trust what they say anyway.

Bottom Line: The IRIS email is meaningless. However, if you want to use it to "feel better" that your claim is being worked, then by all means do so.
