Finally, All My Claims Paperwork Submitted...

Question

I stayed up til the wee hours this morning, finishing up all of the paperwork for my claims. I sent it out this morning to the VARO, as my 30-day VCAA period ends next week.

Now I just kick back and wait, I suppose.

I'm hoping that they'll waive C&P on a number of items, since I have lots of records and some pretty strong nexus letters for much of what I'm claiming. I have 'more than likely, greater than 50%' from specialists on a few items, 'as likely as not, at least 50%-50%' on a couple others.

I had kind of a bonus yesterday, I think. A VA specialist who examined me made medical notes in my record that appear to nicely support an increase for IVDS and radiculopathies of extremities.

I've been unemployable due to disability and on SSDI since 2000. I'm hoping to finally either get 100% TDIU or schedular, P&T, but I'll see what happens.

With all of the info I've learned from this and a few other sites, I think I have a much better chance of getting approval. I appreciate all of the help from you good folks.

Congratulations~

now the wait. I would go help somebody else, even if it is just doing their dishes. Doesn't matter what you do - giving back is a great way to be a human being, and to fill your time.

Try to live and give while you are waiting...

You got it right...the wait is now on. Good for you getting va doc to connect the dots too. All written opinions should help.

If the SSDI is solely for what is SCD already or what will become SC then that award will help.

But they wont formally consider you for TDIU until they rate you at 70% and then they will send you the TDIU form and then use that date as the retro TDIU date if they award TDIU.

This why I suggest vets send them the form regardless of their rating- when applying for higher rating.

if they are unemployed -in order to preserve the EED of the receipt of the TDIU form as it could be signficantly higher for retro then waiting for VA to send it.

The form 21-8940 is here but I will attach again f you need it.

Maybe you sent it in already-if so ---GREAT!

If there are multiple SC issues I think it is easier for the VA in many cases to determine and award TDIU then attempt to evaluate all issues that could end up with TDIU award anyhow.

Thanks, all.

And thank you Berta, yes, I did send it already. I learn a lot from your sage advice, you are a great help to a lot of us here.
