Question

I signed up for the $10,000 life Insurance policy, It states I must file a written application for a waiver of premiums and supply proof of disability. Can anyone tell me if my one page letter from the VA stating that I am 100% permanent and totally disabled be proof enough or would I have to supply the entire award decision? Also is there an application form I need to send with the proof? The letter from the National Service Life Ins. Policy has a PO box in Philly.Am I to assume that will be where I send the proof etc?

Thanks for any help

Make a copy of that page that states permenent and total and send it to them. On the application, handwrite the following words: I request Waiver of premium.

That is all you need.

We are going to have an insurance specialist for SDVI on the SVR show next month.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

SVR is Surviving Veterans Resolve, a radio show that covers many beneficial topics to veterans. A link to it and its archives is located on HadIt's home page.

Hope this helps...

I have a stupid Life Insurance question... I was given a new SC rating back in July, and with the paperwork was the envelope & form to buy VGLI. I set it aside because I knew I had a year to decide if I wanted it or not....

In December I got my 100 P&T approved, and with that paperwork was a mention that I would be eligible for a waiver of premiums. BUT it read as though I was out of luck because I wasn't currently paying for VGLI.

What I'm wondering is whether I might still get in under the wire because I still have 5 months left to decide if I want to get the VGLI in the first place. Can I sign up for it and then request the waiver?

Let us be kind, one to another, for we are each of us together in our pain.

I was service-connected and did not get VGLI. Then I was increased to 100% P&T, but did not qualify as I had been SC'ed for longer than 2 years. However, I was SC'ed for HTN after all that, and then I qualified for getting VGLI within the two year limit for a NEW SC condition and the premium paid for the first $10,000 due to 100% P&T I was already.

Hope this helps...
