Moderator pacmanx1 Posted May 20, 2011 Moderator Share Posted May 20, 2011 May 18, 2011 8:00 AMBEDFORD - A man who worked with substance-abuse patients at a Massachusetts veterans hospital has been accused by federal authorities of selling drugs to the very people he was supposed to be helping. Prosecutors say Patrick McNulty of Billerica sold cocaine to a cooperating witness on the grounds of the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford on three occasions, bragging about his contacts with gang members and his ability to get cocaine whenever he wanted. McNulty was arrested on Tuesday and released on $5,000 bond after an appearance before a magistrate judge. A hospital spokeswoman says McNulty has been suspended and is not allowed on hospital grounds. There was no answer at a telephone listing for McNulty. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. carlie
I believe selling drugs on Federal Property is an automatic felony even if it was a small amount of Coke. IMO, he lucked out with only having 5 K for his get out of jail ticket, bond. This is especially true since they have caught him selling on, "three occasions". Also, it sure seems to me that law enforcement would be trying pretty hard to add him to their list of snitches since he was, "bragging about his contacts with gang members and his ability to get cocaine whenever he wanted." I notice he sold to a "cooperating witness", which means he sold to someone else that was already in trouble with the law and they are trying to get out of their legal trouble, by providing cooperation, usually for a higher level arrest. Your last paragraph is exactly what happened to my sh*t head nephew. Which also happened to be his roommate.
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted May 22, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted May 22, 2011 I believe in my heart that the so called war on drugs is an absolute farce. They should take money from the War on drugs and use it to treat addicts.
MRRRR5
This is sad; they actually let him make 3 sells before they arrested him...wow. I can only imagine that he may have been "packing" a firearm while at work with the illegal activity he was doing, thus putting many innocent Vets in harms' way.
