HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted July 5, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted July 5, 2011 Ricz You are 90%. Are you trying for TDIU or 100% schedular? That last 10% is very hard to get I can tell you. What are you trying to accomplish with appeals?
RicZ
thanks for info Carlie... John999, I would like to be 100% schedular as that would be nice. i really just want it all properly documented just in case something goes wrong with me. As far as the appeal my VSO told me this is how its done and i feel as though im just along for the ride. I really dont like not having any control over all this. RicZ, I hope the VSO does not have you thinking, or that you are thinking on your own that 90% + 10% will equal 100%.
HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted July 5, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted July 5, 2011 You need an extra rating of at least 50% to get to 100% from 90% schedular. You are ten percent able bodied according to the VA. This is VA math. If you can't work go for TDIU since you have enough to get there now. RicZ
John, I was offered TDIU in 2007 and turned it down because i felt it would let the bad guys (terrorists) win so i continue to work. I work for the federal govt and i work with all retired people so i get some brakes there. Its just getting hard to do my work effectively and i feel as though im not pulling my weight. Im not a slacker and i dont want anything i dont deserve. its just getiing harder with all my injuries and surgeries to perform at the level i expect myself to be at. Carlie, No he doesnt have me thinking that...he has explained everything in detail. He is just very busy and doesnt get back to me for weeks when i have questions and that is what frustrates me...........
HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted July 6, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted July 6, 2011 Ricz So what you do is when you can't do your job anymore put in for disability retirement and TDIU. I worked for the feds for 20 years before I took disablity retirement, SSD and TDIU. Start planning for the day you won't be able to do it anymore. There is always a waiting period and you want a stream of income while you wait for all the programs to kick into place. Towards the end of my working days I saw it coming. It is hard to face, but better to prepare. How old are you now may I ask?
