The VA should be helping you more than they are considering your wife's condition and your own disabilites. They should not leave housebound vets to fend for themselves. iceturkee Posted December 23, 2011 Share Posted December 23, 2011 i have had a nurses aide come to my house 4 days a week, 2 hours a day for over 4 years because i had a&a awarded to my nsc pension. my inflammatory arthritis has deformed my hands, my feet and most of the rest of my body. this is in addition to my worsening back condition of which i have spinal stenosis, foraminal stenosis, a slipped vertabrae, bulging discs, osteo arthritis and scoliosis. i was recently awarded iu and today i applied for smc a&a. the program i qualified under is called home health care, i believe.
