Nhods
I was informed a phone call from my friendly VA (ha) that my claim which was located at the Columbia S.C regional office that as of August 5th the regional office of Louisville (sp sorry?) Has received my claim and began processing it. I was then informed that as of August 1st 2011 the average amount of time my local (columbia) VA office was taking in the descion phase was 98 days depending on the type and how complex the claim is. (BTW i'm way over those 98 days!) And that the average amount of days at the Louisville office was only 14 days. Does this mean good news? Bad news or no news? Has this ever been heard of? Berta
I believe you mentioned you-were medically retired in 2009 ? forget- Did you mean you received a medical service discharge? It is hard to say if they will hold to any time frame. Was your C & P exam favorable? Did you fulfill getting anything the VCAA letter asked you for? Do you have a rating from the Mil? Edited August 11, 2011 by Berta GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University ! When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we." Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
Nhods
No I was medically retired, I did not receive a medical discharge. I have no idea if my C & P was favorable? Nor do I know how i'd find out. My last C&P was in Febuary. They did not request any more information, though when I submitted my claim I handed over stacks of doctors reports and what nots. And yes when my MEDBRD was finalised I received a total of 70% which I currently collect monthly of course
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted August 11, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted August 11, 2011 Welcome to Hadit. Just a comment about so many members posting that their claim has been farmed out to another VARO to be processed. It sounds to me that VA is trying to streamline by making VARO's experts on certain types of claims. Whether or not this speeds things up we will have to see. Good Luck on your claim. Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
justrluk
I can see creating "Centers of Excellence" as a way of leveling the playing field between similar claims receiving the same ratings. To me, the consistency would be a positive. However, depending on the claim load for any given type of claim, the workload would have to be frequently re-balanced to maintain performance. I could see (unless tracking is tightened up) the potential loss of records increasing as C-Files transit the system in search of their destination. Limbo is status quo for the VARO. carlie
IMO - the VBA is just balancing the books - - - so to say. Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.
