Question

I recently filed a NOD, a dependency application and a new claim all about a month ago. The dependency claim is showing as of 15 Sept on Ebenefits, but under "what action have we taken" it shows QTC 12 Sept with a suspense of 11 Nov 2011. Any ideas what this QTC is???

Thanks

1) QTC = private doc shops that are contracted to do C&P exams outside of the VAMC.

2) At this point why in the world is there a dependency application at issue ?

3) Do not put any thought into the "suspense" dates as this is just a VBA internal date

that prods them to take some sort of action - the action can simply be to update

the suspense date - lol.

QTC is a contractor for the VA. They perform C&P exams; you should be seeing a package soon with forms, etc. to fill out. If you don't get a package within a few days, find a number of the office closest to you and start tracking down the appointment. You may have a few nearby, so it may take some time to find the right office. QTC docs cannot accept hand-carried documents, but will discuss them with you.

Rob...

This probably means you had a "QTC" C and P exam on the 12 Sep. Did you attend an exam then? If you did not, then you need to look into this. It may mean that you were sent a notice of the exam and you did not get (the notice). The VA regurarly denies Veterans who miss C and P exams, even if it is the VA's fault for not notifying the Veteran of the exam.

If you missed the exam, then try to get it rescheduled...tell them you did not get notice and only found out on ebenenefits afterwards. Check to make sure the VA has your correct address...the Va has multiple, multiple departments...so changing your address may not change it for C and P exams. Find out what your address on ebenefits. Correct it if necessary. Take action on this, or miss out.
