Question

I have a question, I am 80% Disabled through the VA, 50% PTSD and 50% sleep Apnea. I applied for IU and was denied (of course) so I appealed it but it seems that the appeal is going to take forever.

My question is can you apply for PTSD increase while appealing the IU? would it be any faster? I am currently not working and my issues are getting worse. also, the VA is sending me to AZ for 2.5 weeks of therapy for PTSD.

Thank you all for your help

All your going to do is start a new claim if you did not appeal the prior rating. You could apply for Voc rehab and see if they turn you down, if the do because of your SC, then you can use that denial for cause on the IU claim.

Yes you can ask for an increase while you still have an appeal pending. If your condition worsens you can apply for an increase at anytime. The effective date will be when you apply for the increase. You can always ask for an earlier effective date once the claim is approved. It takes less time going the way of a new claim for an increase.

Hollis - before you get scolded, by one of the moderators, for hijacking someone elses post, you may want to move your post and start it under your own title. jmo

Hello brothers and sisters, I need some help and advise. I got a letter today from the VA, it seems I have and appointment for a C&P for PTSD. I know I was asked several questions by my VA doctor about my tour in Viet Nam. I don't know what to expect at the meeting. BTW the date is 21 Nov. So if someone can share some help I would appreciate it.,,,

Thanks,

Hollis
