Lower Back Appeals

Question

My husband has a va claim in appeals for his lower back. He is on SSDI for degenerative joint disease of the lower back. While looking thru is files, we found a SMR for middle back. I don't recall submitting this to va in the initial claim. He hurt it doing lanes while in training., They gave him Motrin. Could this be submitted as evidence for his lower back appeal? I think I'm just grasping at straws but no harm in asking. MRI was done to lumbar spine. Degenerative change at L1-L2 and disc space narrowing at L4-L5. Is this anywhere near the middle back??? I'm not by no means an expert on VA claims or a doctor and I would hate to have evidence in my hand and not know that I could use it. He does have lower back popping in his exit review but at the time, VA dr's were concentrating on his knees since they were giving him the most problems. He is SC'd for his knees 20%. Thanks again for all you do on these forums. They are such a help.
