Medical Records

Question

I recently filed a claim for IHD and have questions about obtaining copies of my medical records. I am assuming the VA will request and obtain those medical records however I would like to have those copies for my own perusal. The hospital/cardiologist charges 50 cents per page if I request them. This could be a tidy sum considering it covers a span of about 10 years. Should I wait and let the VA request them or can anyone tell me other options?

Thanks

The lstt stack of files the hospital wanted to charge for-last summer I argued with them to no avail .

So I went to my county service officer and had him request them for the VA.from the hospital. So when the CSO got the files he copyied a set for me.and I got the whole stack about 2 inches worth. NO COST TO ME and VERIFICATION THE OTHERS WERE SENT TO THE VA.

Let the VA get them, then request a copy of your whole VA Claims/Pension file the medical records will be included in that request.
