A Change To E-Benefits Site This Past Weekend?

Question

Maybe I just never noticed it before, but it looks like they have added an "Estimated Time" as far as completion of Comp Claims go on the page where you check the status of your claim. Under the heading Details of Your Claim it has Claim Received (date - which was always there), claim type (also there before and then Estimated Completion Date of your Claim. Did I miss this before or is this new? Thanks!

Geez - - - For some reason I am skeptical of the info below.

Even the "claim received" date, it's off by about 10 years for an issue going back over 30 years - lol.

"Details of Your Claim

Claim Received: 03/26/2012

Claim Type: Compensation

Estimated Claim Completion Date: 09/17/2012 to 07/17/2013"

Mine just says at the VLJ.

I have a better method than e-benefits..

A calf was born about 1 1/2 years ago. I named him COPD. When he gets big enough to eat then it is time for my claim to be decided. We have had a drought here this year and the calf isn't big enough yet. This means it will take a while longer.

I started this COPD claim in 2004. Each time through the process, I name another calf.

This is a much better and reliable method of determining when the claim will be finished.

Stretch,

You seem to have found a fairly accurate measure of "VA Time", your method is quite a bit tastier than stressing endlessly and popping antacid tablets!

Best regards,

Greetings all:

Well last November 18th a put in the paperwork to have my son who was to turn 18 on December 7th to remain on the award. I completed the approval for school attendance form for his last year of high school and submitted a form for college since he already had his acceptance letter. In other posts I have expounded on this situation and they finally put him back on the award in June (after a congress critter inquiry). I assumed the 6 plus months to put him back on the award was due to the confussion eBenefits created about my spouse (eBennies seemed to tell Detorit I wasn't ever married).

Just when you think it is fixed, you find out they did it the VA way!

Well they only put him on for High School, ignored the form for College. I didn't get in too big of a twist, since if they make a positive decision on my current DRO he will be moving to dependant educational assistance program. Since we are on month 19 with no decision, I thought better resubmitt it, submitting a new claim instead of appealing the old one should be quicker.

Well I looked at my time estimate for my dependancy adjustment (they call it a claim) I submitted June 25th. The estimate is 12/15/2012 - 6/27/2013.

How can Secretary Shinseki and the other clueless undersecretaries continue to spout this 125 day goal. They can't even promise a dependancy adjustment right now under 365 days.

It is going to be another long grim decade before they begin to get this caught up!!
