Why the heck should it take almost 6 years to get the correct rating? Hey it took me about 30 years. How many deserving vets have just given up along the way? Berta Posted July 31, 2006 Share Posted July 31, 2006 Congrats!!!!! Persistence pays off!!!!! I hope your retro was the right amount- Sometimes on big retros they make errors. They tried to snooker me many times. One error- it took me 3 years to realise they missed a year of retro DIC. Also they were sending me a monthly DIC check at a rate for a prior year. I wrote and said they either owed me about 300 bucks on the monthly DIC or about 11,000 on the retro DIC -or both. They sent me the money on both errors in three weeks- You can ask for an audit if you need it and the historical comp rates are at the VA web site,to check it. Took me about the same time plus 3 C&P's, 2 IMO's, 4 hearings but Social Security took four months when all were filed at same time. Relax and plan your retirement you earned it the hard way.
