My Claim Finally Moved In Ebenefits, Too Good To Be True?

Question

So, my claim for an increase with IU has finally moved from gathering of evidence to preparation for decision today after 19 months of sitting there. Does anyone have an idea how long it takes when it has actually gotten to this point. I know it varies but I am hoping we aren't talking another 6 months!

I spoke to a contact at the VA in San Antonio who told me they are concentrating/focusing their efforts on claims that are nearing the 24 month mark. Don't give up!

I wonder where those of us nearing the 27 month mark are in the grand scheme of things? Keepin' the faith though.......

Thanks for the update!

mark,

Have you tried the Case Management contact? Someone posted a phone number but I didn't write it down. This seems like a little know option so I'm spreading the word. I'll find it and keep the phone number handy and post it when the need arises.

No, I never knew of a case management contact number. All I've ever used was the 1-800 main number that usually involves anywhere between a 45 minute to hour and a half long wait. If you find it, please let me know. It would be nice to have some alternative means to contact them.

Thanks again.

This is the number from a post here in HADIT:

202-273-7453

VA Office of Case Management

Not sure if it's region specific and the OP was in PA, but it can't hurt to give it a shot.

I'd be tickled as an old hound dog with a new bone if they would start working claims that were 32 months old. One thing that one must learn is that in Ebenefits is that it does not only goes forward, but it can also go backwards.
