Congrats! Hope your enjoying your victory and are able to relax a little more now. Thanks for sharing the info about the Texas Vet Commission - I know there are more then a few vets from Texas on hadit.com that have been waiting a long time...it might help them.

Congratulations! Wow....that was/is quite a wait. I'm proud of your dedication and refusal to back down. Also thanks for the update on the Houston VARO and how they are handling Veterans claims over 24 months old. I've heard talk about it on Hadit, but nothing confirmed. Something must be happening though.

When I hit 24 months, suddenly they scheduled me for 2 C&P's, which I have completed. I'm still sitting in the Gathering Evidence stage on ePeggy, and sitting at about 26.5 months now, but I'm hoping that before long I'll hear something substantial.

Thanks for your service, and once again, congratulations!

Thanks ALL I need to reinstate the fact for all that if your case is in excess of two years or more with the VA in Houston they do have a dedicated team that is supposed to be working on these alone I have noticed some like Papa whom post out of San Antonio you need to follow-up with your representative mine was the Texas Veterans Commission and from them I learned of this. My claim was about 36 months and most likely sit buried under a stack the older your claim the more likely with the right prodding they will pull it up. The Houston VA is under some fire from the Houston Chronicle whom are watching them and writing articles in support of us all you can google it and read so the public at the least around here is being made aware of the plight of us vets in dealing with the VA and getting our claims processed.

Now I still have to fight for the periods of 1997-2001 which they totally have ignored three times now but at the least they have awarded 100% P&T as my health had declined rapidly and under-went four more surgeries since 2008 as well as more side effects from treatments so I have that victory but am praying for you all as all of us need the compensations we are entitiled to period. They can give trillions to the banks it is time they take care of their veterans.

Thanks for the update. Is the Texas Veterans Commission a VSO, and if so, I guess I would need to "divorce" my American Legion VSO and sign power of attorney over to them. I wasn't sure if the Texas Veterans Commission was just the Veterans Department of the General Land Office here in Texas that handles Veterans' affairs. You don't happen to have a number for the Houston contact, do you?

You make me feel a little better, knowing that they are making a harder effort in Houston to address those of us with claims over 24 months. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I read the story that was posted regarding the VA backlogs, with a pretty cool map showing each VARO and its status and backlog.

I also read a couple of Houston Chronicle stories on backlogs and of the World War II 94 year old Veteran that is still hung up in Houston's VARO. Sad.

Thanks again!
