---------------------

WASHINGTON, DC – The Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs held a hearing yesterday afternoon on issues related to the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) 100 percent temporary disability rating.

According to a report by the VA Office of the Inspector General (OIG), the 100
percent temporary disability rating is not being reevaluated in a majority of
cases, which results in overpayments. The report estimated that these
overpayments would cost VA $1.1 billion dollars over the next five years.

The OIG is assuming all these temp. 100% ratings will be lowered if they are re-evaluated. Is every rating of 100% that is not P&T considered temporary?

No they are on the right track. The issue is vet has surgury for a sc issue and gets 100 percent temp rating for convalesance. The VA fails to reduce and the vet become dependent on the 100 percent.
