A lot of good it does to "speed up" claims, and then let them "die" before the RO gets around to paying them. I wonder if the VA treats its employees as badly as Veterans. The Veteran spends years, or decades in appeals, finally "wins" his case, then what does the VA do? Oh, it drags out paying the Veteran for months, of course, all in the name of "reducing the backlog". And they wonder why we say the VA has bad management and needs to "clean house" and "take out the trash".

When I got 100% P&T I got the retro in less than 10 days. It maybe the RO where your claim is being processed that,s holding it up. My claims have all been processed at the Nashville TN. VA. and the retro has always showed up in less than 10 days. My last retro payment exceeded the S25000.00 limit for more processing. A congress man might be of some help. jmo

I have assisted 2 veterans that had been waiting for about 8 months for their retro. After contacting their congressman, they both had their pay within a week.

I'm sure there are a lot of factors, but if the VA would follow their own procedures/fast letters, we wouldn't be having this conversation...
