0 indyman
I wonder if the VA will start testing VN vets as a precautionary measure? Most likely not.
0 mrs rockman (widow of vet)
I got this earlier today from UT Medical Group in Memphis. I had a hard time getting it saved and I hope that this link will pull it up. The VAMC in Memphis uses UT doctors, but I do wonder if VA will even give this a second thought!?! 0 HadIt.com Elder Chuck75 Posted May 13, 2013 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted May 13, 2013 I have no doubt that A/O exposure increased the chances of getting prostate cancer, regardless of the exact type. But, the cited web site and information are less than the information needed to make the case. And far from what is needed to beat the VA over the head! I expect that eventually, a gene scan /test will be available or some other testing that will show susceptibility to the fast growing versions of prostate cancer. It's a common enough problem, and that usually prompts research and improving treatment methods.
0 SP4RVN1971
Well, I have not been around for 8 months or so. As I go to MD Anderson Cancer Center they are at lost to cure this PC. They have been slowing it down, but no cure. The VA Hospital Oncologist and the outside specialist have no earthly what to do. VA Hospital has a group of veterans that have this PC and we get to gather to talk about treatments, our plans, and problems we face. All my friends inside of me (tumor's) are still growing. Plus all the other agent orange friend's I have are keeping me busy. Life is good, as long as pills are THERE! It's good to be back, Ralph stillhere 1 "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"

PC caused by AO has been proven to be a whole new ballgame and much faster moving and deadlier than non AO caused PC so it's not wonder your medical group is scratching their heads. Have your physicians considered proton therapy? Since it pinpoints the tumors it can do more damage to them without affecting other cells. Holistially, check into cannabis products, CBD oil & etc. There's some positive information coming about, albeit slowly due to various and sundry anti marijuana laws. It does look like it's something to try that may help and won't hurt. Blue Water Sailors of the Vietnam War I don't bother with the junk science and anything factual I've read.... 0 SP4RVN1971
I have used Proton therapy and try all the above . I'm still on Zytiga , but about to start a new drug for me. Last year was a hard year and I'm doing the best I can. MD Anderson Cancer Center is fighting this cancer and VA is Helping!
