  1. Mine was sent from Indy to Augusta ME and still took a year. But like the others said, the retro was nice! Hang in there and just wait them out. Good Luck!
  2. Mine are all there. But, sometimes the system is just stupid and you have to wait it out. Not an easy take, but that has happened to me as well.
  3. I missed an important statement on my award. I am IU until Aug 13, 2013, at which time I become 100% schedular. Using fuzzy VA math, my percentages over took the IU portion making schedular the higher percentages. It made the IU portion moot. I never heard of this, but using regular math I totaled 190%. Either way Im happy happy, happy.
  4. Oh, Im pretty much Indyman. Not much out of state movement for me.
  5. She should, but dont think of that 71M10, hang in there. I got so down so many times that hadit inspired me to keep on a positive attitude and stay the course. Tanacity wins most of the time. Good luck.
  6. 100% P&T, No Future Exams. Just over 15K retro, with retro actually beating the award letter. Have not read all yet, but will keep you aware of what happened. I will say this, depend on nobody but yourself, separate good info from shaky info, stay positive, and make your supporting claim statement as detailed as you can. Hope for a good C&P. Later folks. Indyman.
  7. I liked your email. I recently sent an article to the local paper saying things along the same line and it appeared easier for the VA to just wait us out in hopes we die. Dead vet, dead claim. Anyway, when I checked eBenefits I saw my claim closed and decision was mailed. Maybe good, maybe bad. AB8 letter says good. That was a great email you did.
  8. I went on eBennies this morning and my IU claim had been decided. But, it had been completed today. With no outcome in my hand, I checked the AB8 letters and found a letter stating I was 100% and an effective date of Dec 1, 2012. I think I have a success story. We'll see in three to four days and I am watching my bank data real close. Am I right is thinking this way? Indyman
  9. I just left ebennies and my claim for IU jumped up three squares in one day. I also read the new fast letter on filing for IU and the form 8940 has to be filed now. I filed the 8940 but I am curious and a bit scared that my claim was fast forwarded in order to clear out the older claims for IU, or they implemented the new fast letter and I am going to be denied. Three steps from reviewing for decision, to prep notification in one day? That is exactly 327 days from when I filed. Which by the way is Indys average. Any ideas out there?
  10. My TDIU claim just jumped to the review of decision phase and I am betting it has been denied based on the fast letter that I read. Another series of hurdles for the vet to jump when in reality its just a way to discourage us from putting in for it. I bet this is another way of breaking down the backlog.
  11. P.R. Negative. If your kids are attending a college or trade school and between 18 to 23, you continue to receive the dependant allowance. In my case its 176 per child. After 23, its considered graduate school (which will effect one of my kids on her goal of being a forensic pathogist) then it starts getting tricky. But like I said in an earliar post, they will be sophomores if this drags out until 2014. And one is thinking of the Army. After explaining all the hassles, she may reconsider. This VA claim stuff is certainly an excellent recruiting incentive isn't it.
  12. I was on ebenefits this morning and looked at any letters I might have. Sure enough, my monthly amount was dropped by 352.00 because my twins have graduated high school, on June 7th. I sent in all the forms and papers telling the VA my twins are enrolled in college, starting in August 2013. The continuation of compensation for dependants has a completion date of 3-14-14 but has not moved one bit for the past 90 days when I filed the forms. It and my IU claim are quite dormant. I read on this web recently you can file a dependant claim on ebenefits, even though you filed the long forms by mail. And of course RRR. Will this mess up the paperwork version and/or effect my IU claim, which is past due since 5/27/13 completion date? Will this way speed up my dependent claim? Or just wait as usual? Thanks in advance for any help. P.S. I read somplace that if the paperwork is filed the VA by regulation should continue paying until they find out otherwise.
  13. I did not see or I overlooked forward observer. I did time in a tower in Long Binh and the MP unit I was in sent me to forward observer training. Our MP unit had a lot of bunker security details and I had training on calling in artillary strikes and helicopter support. Maybe FO is under one of the artillary MOS's and I missed it. Either way I still got tinnitus out of it. The Arty units at Ben Hoa were deafening.
  14. I have an appointment in Nuerolody on 6-13; and I intend to bring up my worsening underlying UPN and worsening Carpal Tunnel secondary to DMII. Underlying UPN was found on C&P in Jan 2013 for IU claim. If I get results that ID UPN and worsening LPN to moderately severe; even though it is mentioned in C&P exam, should I send in the progress notes on my claim that is in prep for decision phase. I do not want to delay any longer since I am in 303 days now. Any ideas. Thanks.
