Guest
Very few VA doctors will write a letter but I have found that they are more willing to write a statement in your progress reports about your condition. Basically you really don't need a letter all you need is a statement from your treating doctor that you are unemployable due to your service connected conditions. They should give some type of medical rationale of why your conditions makes you unemployable and then you can file a claim.
rpowell01
Progress reports is where they would write these things. I agree with Pete992
cssamo
Is the progress reports the stuff that you can download from the BlueButton on www.myhealth.va.gov?
rpowell01
Yea but for the past few months they have been down. I reported the issue to myhealth vet and they know but still haven't fixed the issue. There are two choices on the blue button and its not the continuity reports its the first one that is not working. here you can get all progress reports, even MRI and Xray reports. I found out that you should get them as fast as you can because the VA does "lose" reports as they say.
meghp0405
The VA has changed the rules on who they release mental health records to. They (in most cases) will not release them to the veteran, but they will release them to a government organization that requests them. There have been many veterans that have received these documents in the past which have caused the veteran more distress and in some cases, suicide.
