Had My C&p For Ptsd... Where To Get The Diagnosis?

Question

I've read through these posts and I see the letter that many of you have posted where it rates all of the categories and then you get a final score. How to I obtain this from the VA? My C&P was about 3 weeks ago. When I called the VA to ask if I could get a copy of my session, they said it's in processing for the rating. I pressed and asked again, and they stated it wasn't available for them to give to me. They acted like they didn't know what I was referring to. Is there a specific word or something I need to say? Which office should I call?

I'm at the Atlanta VA.

Thanks!

Who did the exam? Did the VA do it or did QTC do it? If the VA did it you can get it through your hospital records release. If a contractor did it you have to send a request to your VARO. Ask them for a copy of your C&P.

I would not ask for a copy of the c/p exam until you receive your rating decision. remember, the c/p examiner upon completion of your exam sent those medical records back to VA to become part of your c-file where they are reviewed and a determination of service connection is made.

By requesting a copy of your c-file or c/p exam, they stop the adjudication process, send your c-file to be copied and then sent back to the adjudicators. this process alone can take up to 90 days, sometimes longer.

Again, my suggestion, wait until you receive your rating decision, then send the VA a letter request a copy of your c/p exam.

The VA is not allowing copies of recorded sessions to be released to the veteran themselves for various reasons. You can however, like I stated above, request a copy of your c/p exam after receiving your RD

I just went to the VA's release of information office (the one where the c and p exam was completed) and got a copy. It doesn't stop the process. Once it is done it becomes part of your medical records so you should be able to go to your local Va.

I see a lot of people posting here before their rating with the score and what items were checked off. That's all I'm looking for. So I'm guessing that's the C&P to ask for? It seems like it's pretty common to get a copy of that before the rating from the threads I've seen here.

Thanks for all the responses. Just a little confused. it's been a long time since I got into the process again, and with the delays they're having I'd like to have an idea beforehand.
