Yes, you have to be deaf as a post. I got a hearing test at the local university medical school on a referral from the VA. The doctor said I had high frequency loss but it was due to nerve damage and probably from military service. I let it go since it is not that bad. Now when I get older I will probably be deaf like my relatives.

I live overseas and while I have been tested and show SNHL and I reported tinnitus, I don't have an IMO. Is there/are there any Audiologists that will look at audiogram and military records for service connect? I was 11B as a basic training rifle range instructor for a 1 1/2 years after Vietnam tour.
