0 HadIt.com Elder Philip Rogers Posted January 27, 2014 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted January 27, 2014 There's a good deal of evidence that sleep apnea is possible w/PTSD and also w/Type II diabetes. I don't wish any of them on anyone. jmopr
0 meghp0405
you can obtain sleep apnea as a secondary condition, however you will need a doc to state the service connected disability it is secondary to, and the most important part, the doc will have to explain why it is secondary and a medical rationale on how they came to that conclusion. I have seen SA secondary to PTSD, pulmonary conditions and one claim of fibromyalgia. again, it will be dependent upon the IMO from your doc. 0 babyray
What about depression? My depression is rated 100%, maybe depression can cause sleep apnea. I've been dx with sleep apnea and is about to get my cppap machine and mask.

SA as secondary to any SC'd condition, will be dependent on what your doctor opines on and if it is supported with their full medical rationale. 0 meghp0405
depression is a part of PTSD, but what Carlie stated, depends on your doctor and his/her rationale/etiology...
