So here goes both my daughter and step daughter got a free ride in college thru the state of VA. Virginia has a program if you ate 90 percent disabled and served in a war they will pay for all classes and fees for any Virginia public college. It also is good for a spouse. georgiapapa
That is unreal. I wish all the other states would follow Virginia's lead.
Jim MAC
The only part of the program I do not like is you have to have served in a war. Someone who never deployed but got hurt in a training accident does not qualify. The also pay 900 a year for books Delay, Delay, Delay another thousand Vets will die today. This has been almost a 9 year trip thru the VA maze. Jim
HadIt.com Elder Philip Rogers Posted August 21, 2014 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted August 21, 2014 Serving in a war usually means the war period, not in actual war/combat. pr
georgiapapa
Jim, I am a war veteran but I have to agree with you. If you have a disability as a result of your military service, it should not matter whether you served in a war or did not serve in a war.
HadIt.com Elder jbasser Posted August 22, 2014 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted August 22, 2014 Kentucky allows a total and permanent depedndent to atttend any state university tuition free. J A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect. A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served. Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.
