Informal Claim

Rate this question

Fat

Question

Can anyone fully explain the Informal Claim process.

Can I file a Informal Claim before I have a diagnosis from a podiatrist

I want to file a Informal Claim for flat feet; however I want to see a podiatrist first.

The issue (flat feet) is listed in my entrance exam.

I would file a ''new claim'' but I don't think they give over 30% rating?

some hadit members have a 30% rating for flat feet!

I believe ''pete53'' but not to sure? seems like I remember reading that he did?

Fat,

Google 38 CFR 3.155 for info on "Informal Claims." I assume you are thinking about filing an informal claim to establish the EED for your flat feet claim. You can do this through ebenefits, IRIS, mail, etc.

Hope this helps.

It is just a notice to the VA that you are starting a claim. You can file it before you have a diagnosis. You can also withdraw it at anytime if necessary. If your podiatrist discovers some additional conditions secondary to your flat feet, your EED for the secondary conditions would be the date you notify the VA of the secondary conditions. JMO
