Can I file a Informal Claim before I have a diagnosis from a podiatrist I want to file a Informal Claim for flat feet; however I want to see a podiatrist first. I assume you are thinking about filing an informal claim to establish the EED for your flat feet claim. You can do this through ebenefits, IRIS, mail, etc. Hope this helps. 0 georgiapapa Posted February 22, 2015 Share Posted February 22, 2015 It is just a notice to the VA that you are starting a claim. You can file it before you have a diagnosis. You can also withdraw it at anytime if necessary. If your podiatrist discovers some additional conditions secondary to your flat feet, your EED for the secondary conditions would be the date you notify the VA of the secondary conditions.
