21 Days?

Question

I have missed work 21 days twice in the last two months, should I request temporary 100%......Why, Why not? I am scheduled to return to work June 1, but that remains to be seen. I am struggling with SSA or SSDI? I am not sure I can wait out the SSDI.

Any thoughts or opinions.

Get on FMLA if you can at least, that will let give you some time to sort things out. As for the SSDI, well, unless you have an attorney, you'll probably get denied your first time or two out- I had about 2 inches of documentation courtesy of MyVetHealth and still was shot down. Looking at 100% from VA right now, pending. Hang in there. Ive been there all this last year. PM me if you need anything or want to talk it out.

I am just a few hundred dollars per month of making it on SSA and my current 60%. I am leaning strongly to going on with the SSA and seek some sort of low pay "NO STRESS" job as a supplement. Three different Dr.s have told me I needed to retire for health reasons, but they don't pay my bills.

I have lost a few thousand dollars being out of work so far, with less to come!!! Most of my earnings are commissioned.

That is why I was wondering about the temporary 100% that I have seen others comment on.

If you get approved for SSD send copy of your award letter to the VA & Request TDIU, your 60%sc at present &if your S.C Disability keeps you from finding substantial gainful employment.

SSD will help you get TDIU.

at 60% and your age VA can use the Extra scheduler to grant the TDIU.

If you don't want to do that? I think there ''IS'' a way you can get the temporary 100%

TDIU & SSD will be a modest living!

depends on the cost of living, etc. where he is. IF you get SSDI you can't work, or only work temporarily for a short period of time to see if you can re-acclimate to the workforce.

Sounds like you need to go thru with the SSDI, and also submit an FDC claim for an increase if you are down due to one of your SC conditions. Good luck and take care

Ok, so you cant wait out ssi, so you want to apply at VA?

That is like getting out of a jet engine airplane, as its too slow, and get on a slow moving iceberg, thinking its faster.

You may be able to get temporary 100 percent. What are your plans for the year 2025? By then, you should be in appeals and it will be "any day". Well, maybe. I have waited 13 years..and 3years since the Board decision. The VARO "doesnt want" to implement it.
