I'm 70% for depression which I got last October. I have an appointment next week to increase it. Am I risking losing what I have if I try to increase?

not really as long as you have the evidence for a higher rating

its just that they could look at all your service connected disabilities

if they please.

They could reduce you at any time, however, if the evidence is there, you shouldn't be reduced. If you received your 70% rating, in October, I would just file a NOD, rather than requesting an increase, which starts a new claim date. Anytime you file a claim, w/the VA, they can look at your other conditions and possibly reduce something. It rarely happens but you should be aware of it. jmo

The VA reviews your disability when asked for an increase. Usually it does nothing but there is always the risk that they could reduce. In practicality it rarely goes down. Do you get SSD. If you do it probably should be 100%. If you don't you probably should ask for it. If you have a job drop your claim.

Good advice given above, remember that you can always submit a claim for an increase if warranted. I was retired 2013 with 30% PTSD, 9 months later it was upped to 70%. Good luck and keep us posted
