Sad news, a sailor died today. Our brother Stretch has passed away. The details will follow. Stretch has been on hadit.com so long even I don't remember when he joined, before 2005 that's for sure.

Stretch so believed in our mission that he dedicated endless hours of his own time reading the forum and answering questions where he could. He also volunteered and was the sole technical expert for our podcast and he volunteered his time freely because of him we have archives of the podcasts back to 2010.

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.

Yeah that was a cool, show!!!!

His widow seems to be OK for DIC (Mike was 100% or TDIU) P & T for over ten years as far as I know.

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

Rest in Peace

When I count my blessings I count my family and friends twice.

If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.

Well done is better than well said.

Hello everyone. This is Stretch's daughter, Michelle Sasser. I made an account just to thank all of you for the kind words. I am so glad my dad touched so many lives. I was never involved in any of his Hadit projects, but I was there while the show was going and I heard some of your voices. It's nice to read how many people he has helped. I am very proud of him and all of his hard work during even the most hardest of times. He had a picture perfect death. He passed away in his own room with no nurses or anything poking and proding him. He had a baptism 30 minutes before passing (he wanted this so bad in the last weeks of his life). I am so glad that had happened for him. I wish it could've happened a long time from now, but it was his time. No more pain and suffering, and no more VA bs...I just hope he knows how much I loved him and enjoyed him as my dad. He did a great job. And I will be the one to pass down his legacy of helping people. I love my dad and miss him very much. Thank you again to everyone who has posted on here. It is very much appreciated.

Mishelly - Thank you so much for posting. It means a lot to me personally that Stretch's family knows how much he meant to me and to HadIt.com members.

Mishelly,

Your comments tell how much you loved your Dad and I am sure your Dad loved you and was extremely proud of you. I am the father of a 42 year old daughter that I love and cherish. She has always been Daddy's little girl and I am sure your Dad felt the same way about you.

My prayers go out to you and the rest of your Dad's family at this difficult time.

Take care.

Georgiapapa,
