0 Andyman73 Posted July 8, 2015 Share Posted July 8, 2015 Here's what I know, Fat. My father retired in 1992, after 24 years, starting with a field trip to some backwoods South East Asian country. About a year after he retired his VA comp started up at 70%. But was later reduced to 60 by the VA, apparantly they had made an error, or so they said. At that time the concurrent recept issue was in effect, so he was losing a large chunk of his VA to comp for his retirement. I believe now he is receiving the full 100% of his VA, since they corrected the concurrent recept penalty. As for working as a 100% SCD Vet, my twin brother was until he got hurt on the job. He is now receiving SSD in addition to his VA comp. He can physically do sit down jobs only. Hope this answers your questions. Semper Fi. Only you can decide what is right for you and your family.
