Sorry to hear that, Harry.

You've devoted your life to serving the nation both in the military and outside, and now you've been dealt another rough blow.

But - the warrior you've proven to be will rise above this and find a way to triumph.

We're proud of you and we're rooting for you!

I agree with PR unless you can change your career. You may be eligible for Voc Rehab. Lets say you can no longer be a trucker because of the meds.

Can you take classes in computers, for example, and work in that field? I dont know..maybe you can and maybe you can not. I do know that social security ofen denies Ss disability if they think you are injured but can do some type of "sedentary work". In other words if your knees are bad, that does not prevent you from sitting at a desk and answering the phone.

Probably before VA will award IU, you will likely have to go through Voc Rehab or some type of vocational program at a minimum, to show you can not do the sedentary work either.

However, if your knees are bad, they wont just automatically assume you can not do something like sales. If you can work, I would by all means do so, and get additional education or training if necessary. Va may help with that with Voc Rehab. Howver, if you can not work, then you can likely get IU. VA may not award IU, if they think you can work at a sedentary job. Most of the time you will have to have a doctor say something like you are unable to maintain substantial gainful employment due to SC condtions to get IU. Its not always enough that you can not walk without pain.

If you can't do the Job you were trained to do because of your SC Disability/s then you eligible for TDIU, So Actually when they pulled your CDL(that made you eligible) that means you can't do the work you were trained to do, if your 55 and older that helps but for the sake of argument you can't do the work you were doing and trained to do because of your SC Disability's ''Remember VA Claims Comp is not like SSDI''.

It would help if you could get a Qualified Dr to sate this, but the only thing is if you go to Vo-Rehab they possibly find a Job that you could be trained to do, or they could say this veteran is not feasible to re-train depends on the work and what you qualify for.

that is if you want to try to continue working at something else other than what you was doing?
