0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted March 23, 2016 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted March 23, 2016 Yes I agree Vync & I Love my new Young VA PCP (FEMALE) to pieces...she does listen and has good understanding about how the VA applies their rules regulations, and she is very intelligent as for as medicine but on some things her hands are tied & I realize it has to be frustrating for her. Not all VA Dr's are bad...its the system that causes the confusion and for better healthcare. I always said to myself to many chiefs and not enough Indians running around. rwskitch, Vync, Prettypantha and 1 other 4 I am not an Attorney or VSO, any advice I provide is not to be construed as legal advice, therefore not to be held out for liable BUCK!!! 0 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Vync Posted March 24, 2016 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Share Posted March 24, 2016 Buck, Having a doctor who listens really does help. It removes the extra frustration that we are used to experiencing from the VA. rwskitch 1 "If it's stupid but works, then it isn't stupid."- From Murphy's Laws of Combat Disclaimer: I am not a legal expert, so use at own risk and/or consult a qualified professional representative. I watched the movie Article 99 and it was AWESOME! and is so realistic its uncanny too, no joke. Obviously the producers of Article 99 were well aware of the VA's treachery against veterans and made a movie about it. Thanks for the suggestion, I have never heard of that movie before but I am glad that I got to see it and is one of my favorite movies now too. I suggest that anyone that hasn't seen it go and do so, you will not be disappointed.
0 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Vync Posted March 28, 2016 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Share Posted March 28, 2016 Hey Scarecrow, I remember when that movie originally came out. I didn't think much of it until my first dealings with the VA medical system in 1995. It was a pretty surreal depiction of what we veterans have to endure. Back in 2007, TBird recommended watching Article 99 and also a John Ritter movie called "Unnatural Causes", which was about fighting the VA for AO issues: IMDB rates this one a 7/10http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092139/?ref_=fn_al_tt_4 rwskitch 1 "If it's stupid but works, then it isn't stupid."- From Murphy's Laws of Combat Disclaimer: I am not a legal expert, so use at own risk and/or consult a qualified professional representative. 0 MKAH
The problem is embarrassingly huge and needs immediate financial, operational, infrastructure and organizational development from the top down. Exactly what that looks like, I don't know, but there are some really smart people in the world that can figure that stuff out. However, almost without exception the healthcare professionals that I have been directly in contact with, have provided me with excellent care and the delays have been due to a very high number of patients verses the low number of health care staff. In fact, I would say the the care and treatment is significantly better than I have ever had from private non-VA professionals that make a lot more money. That is just my personal experience though. When I go to the local outpatient clinic, I make sure and thank them for being there for me. Thanks for the info and to TBird as well.

Good post. If that money was put to meaningful use, imagine what kind of meaningful changes could have been made.
