0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted December 3, 2016 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted December 3, 2016 Never rely on VA to get your medical records or records pertains to your claim, yes their obligated to request your medical records but some times they don't request all they need. If you have all your medical records that will help favor your claim In your better interest its better that you the veteran submit all medical records that help substantiate your claim & any private medical records to be included! If you submit via Snail-Mail Always send copies via return receipt & make copies for your self. Medical Records are the Heart of your claim. jmo MikeHunt 1 I am not an Attorney or VSO, any advice I provide is not to be construed as legal advice, therefore not to be held out for liable BUCK!!! 0 MikeHunt
^ Excellent. You can go one step farther and figure out which 'DBQ' is specified for the disability you're claiming and get YOUR clinician to fill that out, then submit that in your application. All the VA will do is rate, based on that DBQ submission.
0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted December 3, 2016 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted December 3, 2016 Unfortunately At my VAMC the clinical Dr's don't and won't fill out a DBQ.. Since the VA sent out their regulations that state employees are not to discuss or write out opinion of a medical condition for service connection or claim purposes , if they do they will be terminated. This is for all VA Employee's including Professional Dr's & Medical Specialist. I took several DBQ's to my Dr's to fill out and they all refused! I even showed them on the DBQ that they can fill it out...no one will help with it at my VAMC..The VA Employees take up for each other. Maybe other VAMC Are different but the ones that got this message about the new Regulations within the hospital won't help. 0 wablackwell
Buck52 is correct. The VA in el Paso tx refused to fill out a dbq or any other paper work. When I ask all they do is refer me to the compensation and pension office. Fortunate for me I am retired from the army and was able to use my Tricare to see private doctors. They had no problem writing a medical opinion or filling out a DBQ. Good luck. Bill Edited December 3, 2016 by wablackwell
0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted December 3, 2016 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted December 3, 2016 I don't understand why they won't help veterans when on the DBQ its self it says they can fill it out. Also if you use secure messages about a medical condition and ask a question about it they will come back and say this is inappropriate question please do a walk in at your clinic with concerns to your medical condition This is what my PCP reply back with when I ask about a rash I had that won't clear up with the medication she prescribe me 3 months ago...and she is the one that mention to me face to face when I seen her for this to let her know if the rash don't clear up and she would get me another medication. Now she tells me in secure messages that this in Inappropriate, because I sent her a S.M. & ask her about my rash that it is not clearing up and its itching me like crazy bothering me bad. I said so Dr Since I have an appointment with urology clinic on so & so date may I come by your clinic and let you see me at your convince about this rash....she seem to get bent all out of shape and said I was asking inappropriate question and I will be banned from Secure Messages if I continue to use S.M. to ask about my medical concerns. 0 wablackwell
If your not allowed to ask questions on your health over Secured messaging then what good is secure messaging. Sounds like a bunch of BS run around. I would submit a complaint to the patient advocate. I do not know if it will do any good, but at least your voice would be heard.
