Coronary Artery Disease Secondary to Hyperlipidemia

Rate this question

Emmanuel Lawler

Question

I had suffered a myocardial infraction and underwent triple bypass surgery in June of 2017. I had sought medical assistance for chronic chest pains on three separate occasions while on active duty and have documentation of having hyperlipidemia upon my retirement physical in 1999. Would this qualify as service connected?

I'm not certain, but I think my 09 CAD Denial was Nehmer Awarded due to CAD being added to the Nam AO Presumptive list in early 11.

The "Cornell Edu" article deals primarily with disability conditions that present within the One Year after Discharge Direct Service Connection regulation.

Certainly can't say I've looked but I don't recall seeing a Presumptive List Iraq or Afgan that lists CAD. Hell, it took what, 40 yrs for the IOM to determine the Evidence in Support of the linkage between AO & CAD met the necessary Criteria.
