Spouse. Eligibility for CHAMPVA ends with termination of the marriage to the qualifying sponsor by annulment or divorce. CHAMPVA eligibility terminates as of midnight on the effective date of the dissolution of the marriage, as stated in the annulment or divorce decree.

how long were you in?

being married 20 years and retiring may some effect on what benefits the state you divorce in may impose.

Richard is right about Champva for the ex, just be aware there may be other things a divorce court can order even if you were NOT on active duty for 20 years or married 20 years.
