Question

Hello.. first time posting here.  Here is a quick brief and I am looking for assistance on how to proceed.  I am 20 year retired Vet.. In 1996, I opted for Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP). When I was about to retire I asked for another sleep study and I was found to still have still have sleep apnea.  I retired in 2007.  I received 0% service connected for it.  I appealed it but was denied.  I would like to appeal it again.  I am going back to request another sleep study. Does anyone have any information that can assist me to hopefully get a higher rating. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delayed update.

I asked about UPPP for sleep apnea on my original post. Here is an update as to what had happened. I did go get another sleep study done, out of pocket but was able to get 75% reimbursed. Once I got the results, the Doc prescribed the use of a CPAP machine. I turned in all associated documents to the VA Claims department.  A couple months later, I received a letter stating that my Sleep Apnea was now rated at 50%!!  This was in late 2019. In April 2020, I received another letter stating that my Sleep Apnea claim had proof that I had it when I still in service in 2007. So, they back paid me from 2007 to 2019!! VA disability and military pension both had to go thru an audit. This was very good news.  I could not believe it.  Thank you all for assisting me.

Congratulations!  Remember when you get your six figure retro check (if you have not already) to help out Tbird and hadit.  Hadit has been on the verge of shutting down for lack of funds more than once.  So, you can pay it forward by helping others keeping hadit site up.  While we are all volunteers, there are many costs associated with hosting a website.

This is WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!!!!

CRDP is automatic, meaning VA contacts DFAS for an audit -

CRDP Concurrent Receipt and Disability Pay

CRSC has to be applied for. I hope all retirees with combat SCs  know that- as well as their Vet reps, VSOs, etc.

CRSC combat related Special Compensation.

The link for more info is in this thread.

Thank you for those long years of Service to the US of A!
