Question

http://vawatchdog.org/07/nf07/nfFEB07/nf022207-1.htm

Larry makes a provocative and painfully true comment before the links on this:

"The sad part of this story is that the GIs at Walter Reed have now learned NOT to trust any government agency. That will make their transition to the VA just that much more difficult for them."

What do other countrys think of us? This treatment of veterans is a National travesty and a Disgrace!

Because we have a Free Press ( do due the sacrifices of veterans) we also have a propoganda

machine by virtue of Free Press.

I am not being political here- just that anyone anywhere in the world can see this disgraceful story on line.

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

I just read your attachment and agree it's disgusting. Our returning vets deserve better.

It really dosen't seem to matter which party is in power, the waiting lines for help by disabled vets just seems to get bigger.

I personally think the vfw and american legion have become more interested in their standing with congress than their obligation to the vets they are suppose to be representing. Power seems to change people in all walks of life. I am so sick of hearing ( I support the troops). Its a lie. If they supported the troops ,they would support the disabled vets that come back from their wars.

From a sence of duty and honor we went, and now many are to proud or uneducated to seek help. We see them on the street every day. Some seek compensation for their sc disabilities, and in too many cases are made to seem like scammers, or low lifes trying to beat the system.

I don't know what the answer is, but I do know if you send a healty body and mind off to war and it comes back crippled, it should be compensated, and their wounds treated in a clean and healthy invirament by the best professionals we have.

I also know it will never happen kkp

Well Folks, I did a hospitalization in Walter Reed in the vicinity of 1964. It was a stinking poorly lighted hell hole back then, The paint was falling off the ceiling then and the bathrooms stunk like Urine. The Ward had at least 20 men on it , beds were arranged in 3 rows.

I was told by the Nurse who had her feet on the desk most of the time that Officers section was much better then the EM section.

I never saw anything across the street back then, but I doubt it has gotten any better under the current or past administrations.

Sounds like the same old same old to me...

i am so damned angry over this issue i stat thinking about it and my heart starts to beat faster, what galls me even more is that they made such a point of different important folks going to visit - now that takes some balls cause ain't no one gonna be able to tell me they didn't know about this crap.

damn what do they think we are, a bunch of waste that can be disposed of without much bother, how much are we suppose to give? it just sickens me

thank god for the nco, it seems some of them stepped up to check in other patients now that's loyalty, i say it again god bless the nco

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.

While they look for scapegoats I blame all of them from the President Congress and the Brass.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

It always leaves our government officials looking like complete idiots in the eyes of our troops, our people & the world.

Security questions?

If the world perceives us as a nation of corrupt fools that won't even care for their own fighters, will that leave some to think we are an easy target?

Maybe everyone in the world that sent help or letters during Katrina has already forgotten how our own gov turned their backs to our people & watched them die for nearly a week.

Most folks probably don't remember that our own, "border security guards" have been torn from their lives & cast in prison for protecting our borders against thugs.

Most folks don't remember maybe, that our dead & wounded have been charged for damaging equipment, like their body armor, or the millions missing that was passed & earmarked by congress, for body armor the DOD under Rumsfield, couldn't seem to find.

I remember our Vietnam Vets were treated absolutely horrible & if this is not followed up on by independent groups, I would expect business as usual.

I bet theres mental crualty laws protecting animals in this country, that our troops don't have.

thanks for the box time.................i'll step down.
