Question

Greetings! I was recently granted service connection for hemorrhagic stroke by the BVA.  My appeal was received Mar 2010 and granted 21 Apr 2021. How will that granted service connected claim be rated?
One Granted: Service connection hemorrhagic stroke
Three Remanded:
-Service connections Degenerative Arthritis
-Service connection Bunion
-Increased rating Diabetes
Two Denied:
-Increased rating -Lumbosacral or cervical stroke
- Increased rating, Sciatic nerve paralysis

Best Regards

Welcome to hadit and congratulations on your win.  Your rating will be determined by the severity of your conditions.  Without knowing that, I wont speculate on your rating.  Strokes vary widely in severity, they can be mild, with no symptoms or they can be fatal and anywhere in between.

Since this was a BVA appeal, the VARO will have to implement this assigning a rating and effective date.  If you dispute the rating, the effective date, or the denial of something else, you can appeal all or parts of your decision.

Chiefhouse Welcome BACK and congrats!!!!!

My husband's 1151 stroke was rated at 100% for 6 months and then the residuals-which were 100% until he died. This stroke was also a contributing factor to his 1151 claim . a posthumous award that I became claimant on ,when he died and also was part of my proven multiple  VA malpractice events, as within my wrongful death settlement ( FTCA)

Here are the ratings:
