LHI tomorrow

Rate this question

Riplip

Question

Well I have my C&P tomorrow at LHI about my Meniere's claim. Should be an adventure. Going to a place that doesn't specialize in anything close to what I'm being examined for. All the new rating and nightmares I hear from everyone. I have to drive 1 hour and 20 minutes to a company that has another office 20 mins from me. I almost just quit the claim and left well enough alone but I think thats what they want. I hope I get a person that listens and reads all my doctors notes. I'll check ebenefits later today to see if I get denied before i even have my examine like last time lol.

I guess to clarify a few things. I live 20 Minutes from Concord Hospital which covers about everything needed including a Ear nose and throat specialists and Hearing division. The Manchester VA hospital is 35 minutes from me who have the same stuff as Concord Hospital. I am being sent (for a second time) to Somersworth NH to a Pain Management clinic for my Ear conditions DBQ. That clinic is an hour and a half away from me and they don't specialize in what my C&P exam is for. I'm not dogging the VA. The VA hospital has been great to me and has helped me a lot. These contractors and that part of the VA system is what I have a real problem with. They won't give me a reason why this is happening. The VA says is the way LHI works and LHI says its how the VA works. Its a joke and I'm ashamed that this is how our system works.

My last exam in March costs me 3 hours of work. 3 hours of travel and they sent me a $43 check. BS

It is just not veterans that the ROs doesn’t trust they don’t trust their own VAMC doctors. Even when the ROs scheduled C & P exams at the VAMC, the ROs only had selected Medical Doctors to actually do the C & P exams. IMHO (IN MY HUMBLE OPINION) the ROs doesn’t want treating doctors to preform C & P exams because treating veterans could build a good rapport with their treating doctors and the doctor become very familiar with veterans and their symptoms and disabilities. The ROs feel that treating doctors would be bias and try to help the veteran out like any doctor would risk his/her career or livelihood on a veterans/patient. The ROs just wants to stay in control and micromanage every scenario. Ever notice that veterans get a positive C & P exam and then have to go to a second exam or my favorite, veteran gets a positive medical exam and medical rationale, and the ROs completely ignores the exam and medical opinion. I am currently in appeal for the exact same thing.  The RO order the exam and did not like the LHI examiners medical opinion and completely ignored the opinion and forced me to file an appeal to get my benefits.

Guess they didn't check to see if the VA hospital had the service.

I did get the answer on the 30 day hold after the exam is done right.

So every veteran who get scheduled for a exam that is to far you can now habey them check an see if the VA hospital is doing the exam

Or am I take the advice wrong.

Ever veteran should be complaint about this new system and exams.

I doesn't help the veteran it help the rater and dro prolong the process.

Pacman, I feel that is where this is going for me. They just got mine and is was favorable my way and now they are going for a second. Hopefully they read it and listen because its not changing. Just prolongs another month or so. We will see.

Someone stated in this thread that VA do not look for ways to deny a vet. I call bravo seirra on that comment. As to riplip and others had a favorable exam, and now a new exam was ordered? Go figure.

Someone also mentioned quality control. If that was the case, why are there so many appeals as of today.

I am in the same boat. Tired of but not going to stop fighting.

I do understand that some members are employed with VA and will protect VA. Got it. Job security. But come on, some decisions are just bogus. I got denied on one of my claims due to age, smoking and alcohol abuse associated with my PTSD. But never mentioned anxiety and depression associated with my PTSD which is well documented.

It is time for a change. VA can practice medicine but can't fill out a DBQ? The Vet has to go outside to find a doc to do a DBQ. The VA has more info on the Vet than a private doctor. I guess I didn't pass the common sense test.

Yes this is the part that is bothering me.

I don't think the VA should be send all claims and appeal to these private contractor.

If I remember right the change was for veterans who don't live near a VA hospital.

Not all comp exams and veterans

But once again the VA has made away to help denied and prolong claims.

Until we complaint to Whitehouse hotline and congress. They feel it is ok to try an make veterans travel an HR and half away.

An if you say no they will whole up the claim.

Acting as if the VA hospital doesn't have the doctors to do comp exams anymore Crazy.

What happen to them. I didn't hear a bout a mass firing.

VA has ever type of doctor and department. The one I go to.

An they still try to send me to there private contractor.

An like I stated earlier I refuse the exam and they try to hold my appeal.

I had to do a petition to get it return to the board.

I apply for smc benfits. I have had over 10 comp exams.

All favorable. They refuse to accept them or even address them.

An keep trying to order exams

So yes there is a problem.
