I've been using Ramelteon for a few years now.  Don't put me to sleep but, most of the time, will shut my mind down so can sleep.  Its kind of like melatonin but melatonin doesn't work for me.  Doesn't keep me asleep but helps get some.

Yeah I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. For instance I got up at three this morning with 5 hours of sleep.

I have not slept well in years.  I used to sleep like the dead sometimes 10 hours at a time.  Now I am an old fart I don't sleep at all sometimes.

Melatonin works sometimes. I have used  trazadone (Flexeril) its a wife killer. You get up in the AM and are looking for something to kill she is usually the first thing in the way. What works best for me is Zanaflex (Flexeril & Xanax Combined) The Xanax takes the edge off the Flexeril.
