C & P Coming Up Soon.

Hi,

I was wondering what I should expect at my C&P that is coming up on May 17. It is in regards to my IU. Are they going to give me a psych eval too? Are they just going to look at the medical issues that I have filed for? I was wondering this because I just went to my NY SSD exam on Wed. and they gave me a psych eval, for what reason who knows, but they gave me one and they doctors there were...geez I don't even want to get started about them. Is my C&P going to be long? The first one I went to was only about 30-45 min, at the longest. I just really need to be prepared for this, because I do not want to get denied.

Tamara,

Not working for extended periods of time is very relevent. I am sure this will come out in the exam process and should be favorable for you.

I did get a surprise at my IU exam. The examiner rolled up to the waiting room in an electric wheel chair. She could not walk and her hands were so deformed she could not write with a pen. She was legally blind and had glasses that were an inch thick. She was born with significant birth defects.

If I had not worked for ten years and been told by labor law attorneys that I could not work I would have been intimadated by her presence and the fact that she was picking up a pay check for trying to figure out why a guy who can walk, write and see clearly was trying to get IU. She understood my disability and the legal problems I having obtaining employment and wrote a favorable report.

Thanks for the great input. I know I will do fine, I just get nervous sometimes and need ro relax before the exam.

I definately have always told the truth about my medical conditions and everything else for that matter, I feel so crappy some days and for such long periods, that I can't remember how to feel normal (if that is even the correct word to use).

I just have to find the right words to explain to the doctor how I feel.

Ha Ha Normal People. Would not give you a dime for a normal person. Your a survivor and that is the main thing.

One of my favorite shows on TV is NCIS. The part of a Israeli NCIS Agent when asked how a blind man could be a great photographer was asked how he could do it. She responded that either you adapt or you become very depressed and eventually die.

I have adapted more than I ever thought I could and I know deep inside that I can adapt a lot more.

So my belief is that we all have to learn how to accept stuff that we never thought was possible.
