Medical Examinations And Prescription Drugs
I just wanted to throw this thought grenade out there: When undergoing a medical examination for VA benefits, how can the doctor get an accurate picture of potential disability conditions when the Soldier is pumped full of drugs that would mask the very conditions the doctor is looking for? i.e. I've got arthritis from neck to toe, fibromyalgia, migraines, and sleep apnea...to name a few. I'm on six different medications that make life managable. My general health is better with the help of these drugs as is my range of motion and pain tolerance. I've heard other veterans say to tell the doctor about how you feel on your worst days, not what you're feeling now …

Berta
Berta -- You and the elders here on hadit are a wealth of knowledge. I have been reading your prior post and have learned a great deal. I read much more than I post but felt compelled to write this for you and the elders. I have been dealing with the VA for a long time. If the site was available 20 years (was the internet around then?) ago I would have been so much farther ahead in life by securing a much higher rating than I began with. You and the elders are appreciated by myself and I am sure by others. Abe

Service Officers'
Hi to all, I hear "I can't" do this from my Rep, Service Officer. I can't contact the Appeals Management Center. I can't contact anyone to see WHY a second " New Opinion " for 2007 from the two psychiatrist is being requested, although the rater sent the claim to them in 2006 for " New Opinion". I can't call the VAMC to see when the doctors will have their medical information or " New Opinion" completed. Is there a list somewhere of what if anything they can do besides picking up their paycheck? Thanks and always appreciate, Josephine

ptsd Need Some More Advise Please
Ok people, I finally received my PTSD records, that were not used in my 30% claim decision granted for PTSD with a 45 GAF. I also have an IMO from a certified audiologist saying the VA is incorrect in my hearing loss not being form loud noise that occurred many many years ago and that is not all of it. My VSO without talking with me first, sent my form 9, minus the evidence the PTSD GAF score and treatment records I now have, to the RO, to send on to the BVA. The RO has sent me a form asking what kind of hearing I want at the BVA. I want a DRO hearing at the regional level and I haven't had one yet. Is there anyway I can back this claim process up and get the RO to give m…

Missed Dependents Educational Assistance Oppurtunity
Widow of veteran on active duty, wasnt aware or provided information upon his death of Dependents Educational Assistance. Struggled and used GI Bill for some classes on active duty, pay first then reimburse method. Post service 10 year period, used portion (22 months) of self earned GI Bill. Something at Hadit triggered a thought, it may be possible to reclaim his unused GI bill education benefit. Called 1800 VA clerk,Explained, even though remarried, I was curious if eligibliity existed still and was encouraged to apply. VA telephone clerk replyed "veteran aka widow is eligible for award of remainder of unused GI Bill education benefits under DEA as long as total bene…
