Va Lost My File!
Hi! I just found this forum today and I have been reading the posts for the last few hours but I haven't found a situation quite like mine. I am completley dumbfounded at what the VA is doing to me. I was medically discharged from the Air Force on Jan 16, 2007. I filed my claim before my date of seperation, and it has been on file with the VA since 17 Jan 07. I started calling the VA once a month after I filed my claim and was continuously told my claim would be completed in 6-9 months. Once the 5 month mark hit and I was told my claim had not been STARTED yet, I began losing my patience. I called at least once a week to check on the status and was told s…

ptsd 2 C&ps
Had my hearing 24 Oct with DRO, he said was going to set C&P for reevaluation on my back and a C&P for PTSD. Got a notice yesterday for a C&P on Nov 26 at 8:30 am. It is only a three hour drive to Columbia so I have to get up about 4 , leave before 5, drive almost three hours, I wonder what kind of mood I will be in when I get in for the exam?. I will be tired, in a cr***y mood and will have an attitude. I just hope for me its the right attitude. Then today I get the notice that I have to drive back up on the 28th at 1:00 pm for a C&P for my back, thats after a three hour drive again and I wonder what kind of shape I will be after two trips to Colum…

Hearing Aids Without Disability Or Service Connected?
Question. A few years back I filed a claim for hearing loss which was denied. They needed more info. My hearing was terribly bad and my medical records show my hearing got a lot worse from when I went in to when I was discharged - tests done by the VA. I did flightline work. So I was going to refile my claim. All I have ever wanted was hearing aids and nothing more. So I went to a private DR, licensed in my state, who wrote a most wonderful letter that stated in no uncertain terms that my hearing loss was caused my my military work and the VA should give me hearing aids. I thought he was just going to give the letter to me as I told him I wanted it for the VA to ref…

Need Regulation Number
The local ER is billing and threatening the wife of a deceased 100% P&T veteran who was admitted to the ER when his kidneys failed, since this small hospital did not have dialysis equipment he was transfered to a larger hospital who called the VAMC for help, but the VAMC told them not to send him, they had no room. His kidneys had stopped functioning for 3 days and he was diabetic also. The VAMC paid the local ER the 70% as required and they were not supposed to bill for the difference according to the Press Release below. I need to know the regs to quote the local ER so they will stop this harrassment, any help appreciated! -------- http://www1.va.gov/opa/pressrel/p…

Thin White Envelope
Well got a thin white envelope today from St.Pete RO I sent mine to Roanoke asking for increase and looks like they sent it down to St. Pete. I asked for increase for heart condition post stent placement in March with 3 days in hospital and limited activities for 3 weeks. They granted 100% for 1 month. They went on to say that all else remains the same and my rateing does not change. I think I might have screwed this up because I also wanted them to look at an increase for my BP and also my PN and while there is a mention of my BP readings under medication, no mention of rate at all. I have requested my C file and plan to meet with my VSO and have him reveiw it als…

Can Disabled Veterans Buy Back Their Military Time For Other Federal Jobs
Hi everyone, I'm a 20% disabled Veteran. I recently had an interview with the postal service and they told me that disabled Veterans can't buy back their military service towards postal career retirement, because we are already collecting for are disablities and can't double dip, thats what they told me. I thought a federal job was a federal job and that they all counted towards your retirement. Regular Veterans can buy back their military service but disabled vets can't. I was just wondering if anyone out there knows if thats true about other federal jobs. I almost would rather give up the disability to get my six years in service back, I don't think this is fair to disa…
