Convalescence Pay/ Paper Work?
Hi everyone I am new to this board, first post. But I have read a lot and learned a lot great information. Now my question is I am 40% SC and just had surgery through my private ins. V.A would not do the surgery to correct my s.c condition. Since I didn't go through the V.A for the surgery how do I go about getting the temp 100% rating. I already know about the hosp discharge, doctors letter, and my letter requesting the temp 100% but "WHO" or "WHERE" at the R.O. does the paperwork go to. I don't want to send all my paperwork to have it get misplaced. Do I need a specific name at the R.o. or Dept. and if its a name anyone know the name for central Fl. R.O. ? Also does anyo…

tdiu How I Remanded My Claim And Won
In 1996 a Presidential Election year I was close to the end of my rope. Al thought I had been awarded Social Security and was 70% Service Connected I had been fighting my claim for over 5 years. It was sitting waiting for the BVA to take action. I got busy. I wrote an email to President Clinton and asked for help on my claim. I called the BVA and requested a Hearing which is the right of all Veterans at any time during the claims process. Little did I know but these two actions set in motion a speedy resolution. The VARO in Waco called me and asked if I would be willing to come to a hearing in about 8 days and I agreed. At the Hearing I signed paperwork for TDIU and …

Ao And Colon Cancer And Kidney Cancer
I have recently been in contact with the wife of a Vietnam era veteran who served in the Air Force and was in Vietnam 2 times. Was exposed to AO being sprayed around and on the base in Vietnam. He worked on the flight line refuleing and a mechanic. He has Colon Cancer and Kidney Cancer. He filed a claim on April 4th i think for Exposure to AO being the cause of his cancers as he was told to do by his service officer. I worry if this was the right thing for him [ the service officer] to do since Colon Cancer is not one of the Cancers the Va say are from AO. is Kidney Cancer?? Kidney Cancer may be [ if i remember right] a condition that is caused by exposure to…

Also men using orthodics that didn't know they were entitled to a clothing allowance. Chuckles came home disturbed that these men although attending this PTSD VA group session were still in the dark about their due VA benefits. He was asked by the group with the permission of the doctor running the group to put together an informational handout. I want to put the Hadit logo and header on t…

Questions Abt Just Filing A Claim?
I have just recently filed a compensation claim using the VONAPP site. I had a state VET rep who was going to help but had surgery and was going to be off of work for an indefinite period of time. So I did it this way. I go the letter back from the VA wanting all my medical records and my DD 214's. I spoke with another stat VET rep who said to get it all together and send what they were asking for. My question is what is the next step after I do this. After the wait part I understand. I was just trying to get some idea of what to expect. Or at least try and be a little prepared and not get so blindsided by things. Any info would be appreciated. As I said my VET rep is dow…

Cleaning Of Oil-fired Boilers, Occupational Exposure
a From: Roshchin (1968). 4.2.2 Cleaning of oil-fired boilers Significant occupational exposure to vanadium occurs during the cleaning of boilers in oil-fired heating and power plants and ships (Symanski, 1939; Roshchin, 1968; Kuzelova et al., 1977; Levy et al., 1984). Fuel oil combustion results in the formation of vanadium-containing dust, and large amounts of dust result from operations connected with removing ash encrustations in boiler cleaning and in cleaning the blades of gas turbines.
