American Legion Poa
Berta I have been reading about your gripes With your poA for quite a while. At first they were totally FRENCE TO THIS HILLBILLY. The longer I read, the more I learn. I have recently been in the trenches with my American Legion POA. In my case I recently had a secretary making major decisions on what evidence should or should not be sent to the ro in support of my case. I to am very upset, and did not take it setting down. I took it all the way to the top. Ironiclly I ended up saving her , Her job. I am now being represented by the rep who's office is in the ro. Only today I was reading the AMERICAN LEGION POST SERVICE OFFICERS GUIDE 2006 EDITION. I am quite …

Doctor Said Absolutely Not
I went to my appt on Monday and asked my doctor if she would put in for a scooter due to my sc pain issues, including the tarsal tunnel and plantar fascitis in my feet. She said absolutely not. I am young almost 29, but in substantial pain that makes me feel so terrible. I was really upset at her reaction to my request. I told her it would give me more independence to do fun things with my kids. There again she repeated the same statement and then added that once I got in one of the scooters, I would never get out. Of course that's an absurd statement in my opinion. She is a good doctor overall and I am pleased with her care more or less. But feel I am being discriminated…

100% Temp W/ Retirement
I am retired w/28 years Army. I am rated @ 80% now. I just had a Total Right Knee replacement that will, per the call from the VA yesterday, have me temp rated at 100% for 1 yera. The question is, this is temp but nontheless 100%, will I receive all military retirement and 100% VA disability for the year. The CR phase in allows 100% military and VA disibility w/no phase in. But as this is a temp 100% will I qualify? Thanks, lewis moore

Just Received This Letter Of Medical Opinion
Hello All: I had ask my son's Onc/Hem Dr to write a letter of Medical Opinion months and months ago as to his Opinion that my son's Apendix Cancer and his Polycythemia Vera had anything to do with his Military Exposure to Benzene in the Jet Fuels he used as an Aviation Structual Mechanic in the Navy. I received his letter on Saturday April 14th, 2007. In short this is what he had to say: " I do feel that it is a possibility that both of his conditions could be caused by the exposure to Jet Fuels containing Benzene and other organic Solvents while he was working around the Helicoptors and breathing the fumes and exhause during the refueling duties while serving as a Av…

Blood Test
I had blood drawn last week at the VAMC and the results are posted on my healthevet. In the "indications column, there is one listed as low and another listed as high. My blood work from almost exactly 2 years earlier is in the same column, and I thought having recently lost 27 pounds by cleaning up my diet, that everything would look rosy. My triglycerides (normalrange 35-160) have gone from 84 to 190 Is this a cause for alarm? The confusing one is something called anion gap (normal range 10-22). Mine has gone from 17 to 8. I looked it up online. A low anion gap is said to be rare, and can be an indicator of multiple myeloma, which seems to be a…

Dingess Hartman Letter
Last year in the last 2 weeks of March- all Ros were supposed to send all claimants a Dingess Hartman letter. Whether they got a legal VCAA letter or not. I never got one but figured maybe widows dont- I just found evidence at BVA web site that widows are supposed to get them too. I never got one as well as a legal VCAA letter. I am asking my Congressman to sponsor a bill regarding the fact that ROs are defying our DTA rights by only sending legal VCAA letters to some of us but not all. I might as well ask him to add Dingess Hartman letters too. The Letter from VA to all veterans and widows with pending claims under Dingess HArtman V Nicholson (2006)does n…

ptsd Impact Of New Claim On Existing Rating
Howdy, folks. I've got another newbie question for you. I'm rated 80% right now, for PTSD and bilateral frostbite. I consider myself a newbie because I somehow managed to breeze through the system before even knowing that it could be a nightmare. I had an appointment for audiology today, and it turns out that I now have a rather significant high freq hearing loss, and Tinitus. If I were to file a claim for this, could there be any detrimental affect on my current rating?
