Vike17
Vike you recently wrote in a post that the DRO only has jurisdiction over items which are on appeal. Can you provide a reference of requlation for that statement. I am awaiting a DRO Hearing. I believe IMO that a veterans best chance is at a DRO Hearing face to face and able to present evidence, if they lost it you have it. My opinion may not count as I am not a doctor but i will not present my opinion as a doctor, What I will present is what statement are wrongs in C&P Physicals by showing medical evidence which I have, example XXXXX does not take medication for his cervical problem, I will show them prescription after prescription. There is no nerve root compressio…

ptsd Non-combat Ptsd
The local VA rep told me I can't file a claim for ptsd because I wasn't actually in combat. I was a hospital corpsman at the Naval Hosptial in DaNang. I had so many patients die I can't even remember some of them. But I remember many of them. Especially the kids. I have been diagnosed with ptsd at the VA hospital. I have only recently been able to keep from flying into rages when something sets me off. I've been in AA for 7 years now, so I don't combine rage and drunkenness anymore. But my life for over 30 years has been really screwed up by what I carry with me. When the rep told me I couldn't have ptsd I fled from the office so I wouldn't do anything really dumb. Now I'…

Medical Bills Back Pay
I know if you are rated 50% or higher you get free medical from the VAMC. My questions are as follows: At 50% or higher, can you get prescriptions at no charge and without co-pay for illnesses not SC? I have read, but hard to believe, you can also get back pay for any medical bills since rating date even if they are not sc related? When I go to my VAMC for an AO registery exam can I get setup that day with prescriptions to submit by email? Cavman

Obama Wants More
http://vawatchdog.org/07/nf07/nfJAN07/nf012707-1.htm "It doesn't make a difference whether you were hit by enemy fire, or injured because your vehicle crashed, or got sick because of serving in a war zone. The effects on the soldiers and their families are the same. And the impact in terms of the current fighting force and future demands on the VA are also the same. "I have introduced legislation along with Senator Snowe and others to force VA and DOD to start keeping honest figures on our troops and the potential future costs of the war. The sooner we start keeping track of our soldiers, the better and more efficiently we will be able to care for them when they get…

Champva
In October 06, I became 100% P&T. My service officer suggested that I apply for CHAMPVA for my spouce. I did, and the process went smooth. Last week my wife attempted to use CHAMPVA at our family doctors office, and also went to have annual mammmogram ( referal from her OBGYN ). On both occasion, they refused to accept CHAMPVA for payment ( or even partial payment--I know Champva is secondary to all other coverages, but this is the only coverage I have for my wife ). Both doctor's office stated : "CHAMPVA is only accepted as a secondary to MEDCICARE". We do not have Medicare. Is CHAMPVA any good, Am I missing something, or are the doctors not up-to-date? …

Smoking
I entered the service in 1976. I didnt smoke. The only thing that we as recruits had to look forward to was called a "smoke and coke" If the company of recruits was good that day we would get a smoke and coke, or anytime something went well we would get a smoke and coke as a reward. Everyone piled into the lounge where there was buckets of sand for butt kits and three soda machines. If you didnt smoke like me you could stay in the barracks practically alone. So I started smoking. I would like to know how many of you started like me? I know that at some point in time my smoking will be the blaim for the denial of some SC issue. I think we should get a electronic depository…

Why Some And Not Others?
When someone files an appeal why do some have to go for a second c & p or a DRO hearing and others do not go for anything? Also, I filed 3 new claims and only had a c & p for one and don`t think I will be scheduled for the others. Why is that? Cavman
