Scam On Vet Widow
I am afraid I did search and was unable to find an answer, so please direct me if need be. My mother is a senior citizen and the widow of a Navy Vet (lifer, retired about 1954, died 1976.) She was recently approached by an insurance salesman who claimed he could obtain for her something called "Aid and Attendance Pension" from the VA for a fee of $700. When I called him on it, he hung up on me. Is this a common scam with seniors? Is there some agency where I can report this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Berta Help - Got My Rating
Hi Berta, I got my rating today from the VA. RThey rated my loss of vision from migraines as 30%. They granted it and rated based upon the Dr's reports and the evaluations - all conducted by the VA, but tthe Dr said it was permanent in nature but they did not grant me P&T. I was 100% before. They said no change in my status. I was already 100% scheduler so I am just adding another 30% rating. The letter states that the arting is based upon "impairment of field of vision is based upon objective testing" Goldman visual feild testing revealed your response, fixation and reliability good. Field finding of your left eye were not within normal limits as yo…

What Do I Do Now, Need Some Input
It has become apparent that the VARO is going to do nothing in rectifying their error in supporting a diagnosis change, by one of their Raters, with only his/her's unsuported determination. I am in the belief that, unless I reinstate my CUE claim, the time I am waisting at this point on a claim for reconsideration will only bring about another denial based on the false assumption of this alternative diagnosis. How do I get them to answer the question on how they determined an alternative diagnosis was rightly applied, short of sighting CUE? Would I be able to bring up this question of their prior error, if I asked for a hearing on my claim for reconsideration? …

Serious Pain Syndrome
Havnt been around much for the last two weeks due to many doctor appointments and filing for SSDI. Lady called me from SSA yesterday wanted to know if medical records I sent her were hers to keep. I said yes, she said thank god I wouldnt want to copy all this. I said well I did so I could send them to you, there are 657 pages and it cost me $40 to copy and $10 to mail. Back to the topic question. I was looking at my C&P Physical for mental disorders, the Doctor has listed under : Axis I - Major depressive disorder secondary to pain syndrome. Axis II - No Diagnosis Axis III 1. Osteoarthritis (probable) of the cervical spine. leading to pr…

Heard From Va General Counsel
The VA calls one of my claims the Bonny claim (re: Bonny V Principi) It is a legal issue and not a claims matter-but it regards retro benefits. I have waited for over three years for them up there at the RO to send it to the OGC-it cannot be decided at the RO. I got so disgusted when they mixed it up with something else last month- in their letter to me- that I sent it to General Counsel myself. why not- they have 5 other claims of mine they are farting around with-as the years go by - so why not---- well General Counsel just informed that my claim is within their jurisdiction. Duh- the VARO should have realized that years ago-it is not RO jurisdiction…

ptsd Friend With Ptsd
My friend that I grew up with was in Nam in 66-68 (2 tours), one year 25th Infantry, 6 months Door Gunner on Huey. His only brother was with the Big Red 1 at the same time he was in Nam. Anyway, I have all his records and filed a claim in early 80's for PTSD and gunshot wound to knee. Never was able to get more than 10% on his gunshot wound for scars, even though he has lots of pain from probably arthritis. I did get him 50% PTSD around 1988 or so. He is still working full time, but it's taking a big toll on him, especially the PTSD. He has had job modifications, moved to an area where he doesn't have much contact with people. He has VERY severe problems with startle resp…
