Col. Member # 6 Member Rated: posted March 20, 2006 08:01 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- President Gerald R Ford PO Box 927 Rancho Mirage California 92270 Dear Mr. President 20 March 2006 I find it odd for the necessity to contact you for help, after more than 30 years . I watched President Nixon leave Washington DC in disgrace, and you a Congressman from Michigan sworn into office to take his place, I know you had been chosen to replace Agnew, who can forget, those of us who are old enough to remember? I was sad to see Nixon leave, I thought he was a good President, co…

ptsd What Does This Mean
I am a newbie here. I received a diagnosis write up from MH doctor. I don't what this is, what it means, how does it compare to a GAF score. I currently have a claim pending for Depression/Anxiety. I finally received the diagnosis from the PTSD doc today. The write up states the following: Beck Depression Inventory Score=46 Severe Depressive Symptoms Beck Anxiety Index score=32 Severe Anxiety Symptoms Mississippi Combat Scale Score=135: a cutoff of 107 (or higher) Suggested For Vietnam, Combat related PTSD Freestanding PK Scale (Post-Traumatic Stree Disorder-Keane) of the MMPI2: Score 41 a cutoff of 28 (or higher) suggested for PTSD. What does this all …

Important: Home Inspections?
Hi I've been away from the board from some time, glad to be back. I have question about home inspections, specifically home inspections for disability accommodations. My situation is simple, the VA's Chap 31 office granted me supplies that are five years old and two that are now 14 mo. old. I put in a request to replace some used and worn back supplies. I was told that a home inspection needed to be done? When I questioned the VA and said that this type of inspection was never conducted in the past nor requested of me they said, "it should have been done". I feel this is intrusive and a violation of my privacy. When I asked if they could schedule the apt. at t…

Requested Social Security Records
Upon calling the 800# last week I was told that the appeals dept. at my VARO has sent for my Social Security Records. I have appeals on going for 2 years for increase in rating and EED. I do also have claim for NSC Pension. What could possibly be the reason they would want my SSA records. I also am awaiting an Hearing by the SSA ALJ. Do anyone have any input for this? B)

"non Appeal Issue " Claim Finally Being Addressed
I wrote to the General Counsel two weeks ago on this-why not- the VA should have given them the claim years ago-as it presents a "non appeal" issue that the Bonny V. Principi decision did not account for. They did not account for me either---I questioned , as soon as it went into the CFR, the 2003 Bonny V Principi regs due to the status of Section 1151 claimants. They forgot about us. The regs say ALL accrued benefits are now awarded to surviving spouses if death occurred after Dec 16, 2003.What about Sec 1151 death beneficiaries like me- Rod could not hang on until Dec 16, 2003 because the VA "hastened"( as the award letter states) his death. Therefore they owe me…

Claims Process
If your claims were at the rating board but were held up because a second C & P exam was required (due to the first C & P not getting documented), does your claims folder go to the bottom of the stack or will it be worked on as soon as the results of the second C & P exam are received? I guess what I am saying is, do you lose your spot in the process if a second C & P is required due to the first one being considered inadequate or do you hold your position in the process and it is then started on again as soon as the C & P results are received? This may have been asked and answered at some point in the past, but I'm not sure what the answer was. …

Spontaneous Pneumothorax And Emphysema
I had PSP while in service and have been trying to get it service connected. There have been many cases where they have done this but I am having a hard time. What I am really looking for at this time is a Pulmonogist to support my claim. I have one Chief of Staff of a hospital, my current VA Dr. who previously was C of S at a hospital. Any suggestions? Proof Of Receipt By Va
What is the best way to prove that VA received your claim. I have two plus my Form 9(appeal). The two claims were signed for by VARO in August 05. Now VA is claiming that they do not exist. I have the green signed returned receipts for both plus an email where they told me to fax the claims to them with the fax confirmation sheet. However, now they are telling me that if I want to submitt a new claim then it must be in writting etc........ My biggest concern is my current appeal. The form 9 is due at the VARO on 30 March 06. I have been such a pain in their butt that I am now thinking that their stern denials of the other two claims is them simply setting …

3.102 And Reasonable Doubt
3.102 and Reasonable doubt versus impeachable evidence Hello all… Does anybody know what is the difference in the approach/outcome of a case where you can show impeachment or contradiction by evidence or known facts versus reasonable doubt? In my claim, I can indeed show impeachment or contradiction by evidence or known facts— How would that change my approach?
