HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted October 25, 2012 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 25, 2012 DIC for survining spouse if Veterans dies from Service Connected Injuries or is 100% for 10 continuous years. The only review I can think of was for remarriage or length of marriage. Although it should be automatic in most cases the surviving spouse has to apply for it and jump through VA hoops. A few years ago it was recommended that VA pay a percentage of Veterans award like 65% but like most things the VA does nothing has come of it so far. I am no expert but that is my opinion on how it works.
