  1. first payment is on the 16th next month and then will be 3rd Wen of every month after. They said the back pay will be here prob june 15th-1st july but I hope it is earlier. We are thinking of moving into a house but IDK how I will feel living on a ground floor. We live on the 3rd floor and it feels a lot safer than a ground floor.
  2. Yeah, the VA can be a bunch of sloths. I never thought I'd get 70% the first time. I guess I got lucky or they just low balled me into 70%. I guess it would be a low ball since I got SSDI approved within 6 months. Like how does 70% VA equal getting approved for SSDI?
  3. I didn't mean to scam the system. I meant if the OP is the type to struggle to work even though he shouldn't be working. I was like that for years. Going from job to job because I didn't want to admit I wasn't capable of holding a job. Eventually I ran out of places to try to work at and my wife made me seek help. I just don't want to see the OP get into the same position as I was in.
  4. I bet :) They are back dating to five months after the last day I worked is how I am figuring it. Either way 12k roughly will help and then if the VA back dates my IU to when I filed for ptsd that will be at lease 26k. I think since I am awarded SSDI then the VA should grant me IU.
  5. Thank you for your input. I called their 800# and was told I'd get my first SSDI check at the end of next month and that my back pay will be for 15 months.
  6. So I got a permanent password for social security online services and on there it says I will get 816 every 3rd Wen of the month. I get 80% from the VA right now but am at the end of my claim for IU. 1: Can i get SSDI payments and IU or 80% from the VA without them offsetting each other? 2: Does SSDI do back pay? If yes, then will they go to when I filed with them or when I became unable to work?
  7. So i got a letter from social security that had a temp password and for me to register at socialsecurity.gov/onlineservices. I did and on there it says: Payment type: Disability Payment amount: 816.00 Every 3rd Wen. So I guess this is SSDI.
  8. IDK then. I just remember her saying I get back pay from time I filed up to when I got 80%. What would that mean then? SSI and not SSDI?
  9. Well still waiting on a decision. I got a call from Social Security and I have to send pay stubs from wife and proof of my VA pay. The lady said I make to much to get SSDI but I will be paid for the five months before I started getting 80%. IDK how much it will be since it my 30% for those months and my wife's income will take away from the monthly pay. Since I was approved SSDI I see no reason for the VA to deny me IU or 100% for PTSD now.
  10. Called 800# and they said it could take 70 days for them to make a decision. Of course this is their standard answer. All I know is they better not send it back to the development phase like they did for my original PTSD claim.
  11. I been out of the Army since 06 with no diagnoses of PTSD. I got rated last year. I told them the truth about my childhood. Not paying attention in school, skipping school, bad grades, troublemaker in school, and how my parents really didn't care what I did. I still got SCed for PTSD. I know the VA/RO are a bunch of sloths but you should always tell the truth. Proper care comes from the truth. No one can fully help you if you lie. You got credible evidence supporting SC for PTSD. Don't hinder your treatment with lies.
  12. Yes, I am 70% for PTSD and 30% for asthma. The unemployment issue has been there since my first day of treatment back in 2010. So I would think they should go back to my original file date for getting SCed with PTSD but I think I may have to fight it. I'm thinking they will only want to back date it to when I put in the IU claim which was right after I got SCed for PTSD.
  13. I have a question. Since I filed for IU like a month after getting SCed for ptsd will they back date the IU to my original claim for ptsd or when I filed for IU?
  14. PTSD is one of those illnesses that is unique to each person. Just because one person got PTSD from a car wreck and the guy sitting next to him didn't does not mean PTSD isn't possible. PTSD is very personal. So much that a lot of veterans don't get the diagnoses because of the situation surrounding the PTSD or they just don't directly come out and say, "test me." We were giving that mind set that it isn't okay to seek help for our health as long as we could walk, run, and shoot. The VA, military isn't going to be proactive with your health needs. So please take the first step and setup an appointment to be seen at your ptsd clinic. If you need to make it faster go to the VA's ER and explain to them your symptoms. Tell them you want a consult to the ptsd clinic. The ER will have a social worker visit you (im my case they did) and will get the ball rolling.
  15. Even if you had PTSD from childhood you can still get rated. You just have to show that your PTSD has increased in severity due to military service. In your case this is where showing evidence of job performance before and after the military is important. You need to show there was a change during service. CIB should suffice if you have it.
  16. I got 70% from this. Or course the usual is for the VA to give you 50%. I don't think the length of you C&P matters. Mine was 45 minutes. A long detailed medical report of treatment is more important IMO. Good luck.
  17. On e-beni it finally says preparing decision for my IU claim. Cross my fingers.
  18. This is what I kept telling my father-in-law. Why risk roughly 1,400 a month from the VA for a 1,100 a month job that might not last because of my issues. Not to mention the cost for daycare, tax, gas, ect. If I get 100% I would need at lease a 2,200 a month job to cover what I would lose from 100% to 80%. Then my student loans will pop back up with added interest. Like I told him, "Do I want to work? Yes; however, I can't work for less than what the VA will be providing." I have a wife and child to think about and not my need to get out of the house and work on and off.
  19. Thank you. My biggest fear was getting some new medication and being like one of those guys off of batman begins where the dude sprayed the chemical in batman's face and he started seeing all kinds of crazy stuff.
  20. I know that but won't having a possible wrong diagnoses mess up my treatment plan?
  21. If applying for a job they will get a hold of your medication list one way or another. Just for an ID to get on and off base to utilize the PX PTSD will not hold you up as long as you carry a valid drivers license and insurance.
  22. I guess I just don't understand how this could help my case. Even if it guarantees IU/PT I don't think it would be worth the trouble it is going to cause with my treatment?
  23. So I haven't seen my C&P report but I was told by my social worker that the VA doctor that did my C&P said I have some form of schizophrenia that may have been present before the trauma but was aggravated or activated by the trauma. Well I totally disagree with it and I do NOT hear or see things that are not there but whatever I guess. Does this BS hurt my claim for IU?
