Thanks for the comments. I was so excited to get my pay and some retro, that did not notice that my effective date was middle of month, so I did not get a participial month either. Feel like the VA is cheating us out of partial months pay.

My friend retired on 1 September and his VA claim was approved with an effective date of 2 September. He did not get his first VA 100% compensation check until November and it was for October. He thought he was supposed to get paid for September, and I do not know the answer to that question. He was rated P & T with effective date of 2 September 2019. he did not get any retro pay. He did call the VA several times but was given confusing answers, one person told him it was due to some law passed in 1989?? Vern

I have not filed a NOD in over 10 years, so if we do not use the 21-0958, what form or format do we use to filed a NOD after we get the denial letter? Vern2

have had 2 prior PFT, no albuterol, but those were done by VA, now the contractor insisted on doing albuterol. made me sick and dizzy on drive home. the only reason I can find is if they are checking to see if you have asthma. I do not have asthma, exposed to oil field fires, much fine dust and had had breathing issues since then.

Is it right for a QTC examiner to require you to use albuterol (rescue inhaler) as part of your PFT test? Have had 2 prior tests by VA, never used albuterol. Seems strange, was told by QTC, that if refused, would put me down as refusing the test?

My friend Just had many Exams in December, including Audiology, General Gulf War exam and knee and shoulder and foot exam. This was done by VA C & P. The problem is that repeatedly the examiner seemed to be confused as to his status, Reserve or AD or whatever. He is AD and has been throughout his career. Anyway, he called the VARO and now he has to go to QTC and repeat all the exams that he just did less than 60 days ago. And he has to travel at his expense over 85 miles one way to the exam location. Seems wrong. He is staing that as an AD person he can not file for travel pay. I am not sure if that is correct, but he is angry that has to repeat all the exams over again, with many, many x-rays as well. Any thoughts on this process? He is enrolled in the BDD claim process. He has already discovered that he can not get record of his hearing since last one done by sub-contractor to QTC. BTW, now they want to examine both shoulders and both knees, even though he was not claiming both shoulders and knees. vern2

They do not have to give you new C & P, if they have enough medical evidence to make a decision-which is rare. Submit your question via IRIS and see what response the VARO has to say.

Filed a complaint via ebenefits, imagine my surprise, got a phone today from VA office in San Antonio, my claim was filed online, VA said Houston VARO handling my claim, but got a call today from VA in San Antonio. What is going on? This does not seem normal? Any comments, or should I just shut up n get back on the hamster wheel

Just found out a few minutes ago that the VA had stopped paying my daughter in law her 30% VA compensation over a year ago. She had moved from San Antonio to New Orleans and yes she did notify the VA of the move. It appears that the VA stopped her payments and now claims she was overpaid, as she had claimed dependents for her 2 children. VA states total over payment is over $8k. Not sure how to handle this, but suggested she send IRIS a message and also call the White House number for help. She has trouble dealing with the VA as she has a temper!! What should she do. She was a Navy nurse. Vern2

I have athsclerotic heart disease, secondary to HBP. Rated 30% for HBP, fought this from 2007 to 2015. Finally on DRO review was awarded 100% for heart, and HBP still at 30% . Also 30% for migraines, 10% for tinnitus, and a few others at 10%.

I found the doctor. She is a female family practice doctor who lived and practiced in SC for over 30 years and now does C & P exams at New Orleans VAMC
